Shannon McQuade and Dana Nitti - Owners
We first crossed paths in 2016 while working at sister event production companies in San Diego, California. From the moment we met, a friendship quickly blossomed, fueled by our shared passion for creating unforgettable events and a mutual dream of one day launching our own event company.
When COVID-19 brought the event, tourism, and hospitality industries to a standstill, we found ourselves at a crossroads, contemplating what the future might hold. It was during this challenging time, with the world on lockdown, that we decided to seize the opportunity to explore our long-held aspirations. Through countless brainstorming sessions, SD Event Production and Celebration of Life Events were born!
Owner -Shannon is the "S" in SD!
Shannon was born and raised in sunny San Diego, and has been bringing events to life since 2012.
With a background in public relations and a certification in Wedding Coordination from the New York Institute of Art & Design, she blends creativity, organization, and heart into every event she touches.
Whether she’s planning a dream wedding or coordinating a seamless corporate event, her passion for creating memorable experiences always shines through.
Outside of work, she loves going to concerts, comedy shows, and curling up at home with her two beloved rescue dogs.
Owner - Dana is the "D" in SD!
Dana is a San Diego native who’s been planning events and bringing people together for over 20 years. She got her start in the nonprofit sector, spending 13 years as a Director of Development, where she planned everything from galas to golf tournaments and helped raise millions through events, grants, and campaigns.
With a degree in Marketing and a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential, Dana has also worked as a client services manager for a DMC and in-house meeting planner before launching her own business in 2021.
Whether it’s a corporate retreat, convention, or fundraiser, Dana loves creating meaningful experiences that run smoothly and leave a lasting impression. When she’s not working, you’ll probably find her hiking a local trail, hanging out at the beach, or enjoying a backyard BBQ with her family and friends.
